In this time of physical distance and social isolation, we desperately want to shout from the mountain tops: “We’re Here for You! You are not alone – meaningful connection is waiting for you, right around the corner @ The Center!” We live it daily to meet our mission of “helping LGBTQ people along their way.

Beloved community is the home we want every LGBTQ person to experience. So, we are launching We’re Here for You, our video storytelling project to reach our community - our virtual version of shouting from the mountain tops. Every week from October 7th through November 11th, we’ll be premiering a new video in our newsletters and on social media to let folks know how we’re wrapping our virtual arms around the people who need connection most.

Help us make these virtual connections viral by sharing with your friends, and your much-loved community. During this really challenging time, you might be the conduit to connect someone to our programs, to our expanded work across Coachella Valley, and maybe help someone find a friend for a lifetime.

We’re Here for You and together, we are creating vibrant community.

Please Note Class Is This is Full

Our popular ASL program will be back with the great leadership of Itai Cardona.

These 6-week courses are for those who want to learn another language and communicate with members of the Deaf Community. During these classes, students will actively engage with exciting activities so that learning another language becomes fun again. For ASL-II, we recommend you have a basic grasp of ASL, or have previously taken ASL-I.

Students begin by learning the alphabet and numbers, then move to words and short phrases. At the end of the course, students will be able to carry on short conversations with members of the Deaf Community, introduce him/herself, introduce family members and friends, and express various emotions and feelings concerning particular topics.

ASL-II will be offered on Saturdays @ 11:00 am, starting Saturday, September 19th, 2020.

Walk and/or Hike with Kim Every Week

Please register with the group so that I have your contact information in case plans change.

Date, Times and Locations will be announced in the Women's Newsletter each Thursday as the hikes are often dependent on weather conditions.

Next walk is Oct 6th at 6:30am.

Earl Henderson Trail is a 2.9 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Palm Springs with very little elevation.

Parking: head south on South Palm Canyon towards the Indian Hills, in 1.8 miles past the Y, turn left onto Bogert Trail. Follow it 0.9 mile past the golf course to Barona Road, a short cul-de-sac. Park where available near the trail head.

Trail is beside the wash, I often see coyotes and rabbits and there is a view of the Rock House at the Happy Canyon Ranch.

Easy with very little elevation gain.

Make sure to bring a liter of water.
