Two Socials, Twice The Community
For the second time EVER, we’re having a Center Social in Desert Hot Springs tonight, as part of our community building and engagement in the city to the north of Palm Springs. For our friends who live in Desert Hot Springs, Sky Valley, or neighboring communities, we encourage you to create connections tonight with us! All are welcome!

Tonight’s social will not replace our regular monthly Palm Springs social, which always happens on the fourth Wednesday of the month – next week! Join us at one or both… you decide.

Upcoming Community Events
Did you, or someone you know, attend a Pride march during the Stonewall era, or through the 1970s-1980s?

Do you know someone who is attending a Pride for the first time?

You could be featured in an upcoming video project! SAGE is looking for participants who attended the following:

·                Pre-Stonewall Annual Reminders March (1965)
·                Stonewall March (1970)
·                Chicago Gay Liberation March (1970)
·                Gay Pride Marches across the U.S. (1971-1975)
·                First Dyke Marches (1981-1986)
·                Attending their first pride this year (2018)

Mashable, a media outlet, is doing two big videos for Pride. One is featuring folks who had attended early Prides, and the other is for people who have come out later in life and are attending a Pride for the first time. If you have any participants in mind, please contact SAGE Communications Specialist Alysa Stryker at This email address is being protected from spambots. The LGBT Community Center of the Desert is joining CenterLink: The Community of LGBT Centers and centers across the country to create the Center Action Network (CAN), to keep you informed about attacks on our communities, provide crucial information about policies, and give ways you can be an effective champion of LGBTQ rights.

To sign up for this effort, CLICK HERE. You'll get twice-monthly emails about grassroots effort and simple advocacy actions you can take. We know your inbox may already be overwhelmed, so we will make taking action quick and easy.

There will always be more work to be done, and we hope you're in a position to become part of these efforts with us. Together we have made a difference. Together we CAN continue to make one.
